Litter picking

We have started to loan the litter pickers to different classes each weekend so that they can make a difference to the local community. Some of the children have also made plastic pollution posters. We are celebrating earth day today by wearing green or blue and taking part in environmental activities.

Raising awareness of plastic pollution.

I delivered an assembly about the plastic pollution crisis and explained that as a school we are going to take part in the big plastic count. The children all used the tally sheet to tick off what they threw away. The climate crew will look at this and see what we can do to reduce or stop our use of single use plastic. We talked about using reusable water bottles, reusable bags when you go shopping, reusable containers in packed lunches. We talked about reducing laminating in school and other things that we can do.
