So proud of our new wooden rulers bought to replace plastic ones used and often broken or wasted in school. This encourages children to now purchase wooden rulers too. Presented to children in assembly and used in Eco club to measure cucumber length.
Our Schools campaign against plastic in the ocean

Evidence for our schools campaign against plastic being dumped in the ocean.
We have banned single use plastic bottles in school as a result and Wooden rulers have been given too to each ks2 child.

We have purchased wooden rulers for school as we have banned plastic ones. Now children will be encouraged to buy their own wooden rulers in the future. We purchased wooden rulers using the funds raised by selling out tomato and chilli plants on a stall after school. We used the wooden rulers to measure our first cucumbers!
Newsletter – wORLD oCEAN DAY

World Ocean day was held in school to promote the dangers to our Oceans caused by plastic pollution. A giant wave was drawn on the playground and clesses added coins to this throughout the day- this enabled us to donate £132 to WWF for Their work on Oceans.
Ban on Plastic rulers

School council minutes suggestion for Ban on Plastic rulers and our HeadTeacher has now purchased for all of KS2 so no more plastic rulers allowed in school!

Action Plan writing and Surveys

Eco club, a cross-section of staff, visitors and pupils from each class were chosen to fill in a Plastics Survey and help give ideas for our Action Plan !
