Why Are Lea Forest Becoming A Plastic Clever School?

Our Sustainability Champions and School Councillors, supported by Media and Technologies Lead Mr. Croxon, have created a compelling video outlining Lea Forest Primary Academy’s journey towards becoming a “Plastic Clever School.”

The video explores the motivations behind this initiative, the actions already implemented, and our school’s aspirations for a more sustainable future.

    KAP Map Completion

During our school-wide litter pick, our school ‘Media and Technologies Lead’ Mr Croxon, logged the types of litter that we found using the KAP Map.

      School Wide Litter Pick

Inspired by Mrs. Mosley’s launch assembly, all classes at Lea Forest Primary Academy enthusiastically participated in a school-wide litter pick. The children and their teachers worked together to tidy up the school grounds, aiming to create a more inviting space for local wildlife. While the central areas of the school were generally clean, the perimeter presented an opportunity for improvement. To further enhance the school’s environmental impact, the Sustainability Club is developing eye-catching posters to encourage responsible waste disposal among the entire school community.

Plastic Clever Schools Launch Assembly (and the impact of Plastic Pollution)

Lea Forest Primary Academy took a proactive step towards a more sustainable future on Friday, November 15th, by launching its Plastic Clever School initiative. Mrs. Morsley engaged the entire school community during an assembly, screening a captivating launch video and explaining the urgent need to combat plastic pollution. To inspire and involve students, the school has initiated a school-wide pledge and organised a collective litter pick to clean up the school grounds.
