Kindergarten students are spreading holiday cheer by making Christmas tree ornaments using recycled plastic materials. They collect bottle caps, plastic lids, and other reusable items, turning them into festive decorations like stars, bells, and snowflakes. This fun and creative project teaches them about recycling while celebrating the joy of Christmas. Their handmade ornaments add a unique, eco-friendly touch to the Christmas tree, showing how small actions can make a big difference for the planet!

Students took on the role of “plastic detectives.” With excitement and curiosity, they explored their surroundings and identify various plastic objects in the classroom. Using magnifying glasses and other “detective” tools, they document their findings, examining the size, shape, and function of each item. The goal of this activity was to raise awareness about the use of plastic and teach the children how to recognize and properly manage it, while also enhancing their observational skills and organizational thinking.
Litter pick event

Our kindergarten hosted a fun and meaningful litter pick event in our backyard! The children worked together to collect wrappers, plastic pieces, and other waste. It was a hands-on way to learn about keeping our environment clean and the importance of proper waste disposal.
By the end of the day, the backyard was spotless, and the children felt proud of their efforts to help the planet. This activity reminded everyone that even small actions, like picking up litter, can make a big difference for our environment
information about the mission – school assembly
- Posted on: November 21, 2024
Today, our school came together to address one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time: plastic pollution. During the assembly, we watched an eye-opening video showing how single-use plastics are harming animals and the planet. Marine life like turtles and fish often mistake plastic for food, leading to injuries, starvation, and even death. On land, animals get entangled or poisoned by discarded plastics, while microplastics are polluting our soil and water, affecting ecosystems and our own health.
We also explored the Plastic Clever Schools resources site, which gave us practical ideas and inspiration for reducing plastic waste. Together, we committed to becoming a Plastic Clever School! This means reducing single-use plastics in our classrooms and canteens, finding eco-friendly alternatives, and encouraging everyone to reuse and recycle. By making small but impactful changes, we’re taking a stand for a cleaner, healthier planet.
