The audit has shown the biggest problem in our school are crisp packets and chocolate wrappers. We pick litter regularly, each week 4 classes across school are on duty, however that type of litter is not recycled. So we decided to allocate bins just for crisp packets and chocolate wrappers and to take them to the nearby supermarket, where they can be recycled.
Another problem are pens, felt tips, highlighters and whiteboard markers, which are being thrown in general waste. In order to tackle that problem, we have put trays in each classroom, where children discard only that writing material.
