Lunchtime plastic project

Year 3 and 4 children have been very keen to reduce the single use plastic that the school kitchen uses for lunchtimes in the form of yogurt pots, whips, fruit salad, jelly, icecream and other desserts.

They have persuaded Sam, the lead in the kitchen and she has ordered reusable dishes for everything to date except the yogurts and ice cream. She is looking into bigger containers of yogurt to be able to spoon into the dishes.

The children have a rota to wash out all the yogurt and ice cream pots each day so they can be put into the recycle bin.
