Before breaking up for Christmas, Year 2 wrote letters to the Secretary of Education regarding the teaching of the environment and plastic pollution. They wanted to know what the DfE was going to do about their target and why teaching about caring for the environment is not in their curriculum.
We took ideas from each of the children's letters, wrote one letter and sent it to the DfE. We are still awaiting a response.
